We are proud to have a number of new day ticket outlets representing EFFC. The Bakewell Orvis branch is one of our latest additions. Managed by experienced angler David Speight the shop has virtually everything a fly fisherman could ever want plus a large range of clothing, luggage and sporting items. Although there aren’t many places better than Errwood Reservoir David keeps track of all the local waters and offers advice and assistance whenever asked.

David has kindly agreed to offer a discount to any members purchasing fishing tackle if accompanied with an EFFC membership card/laminate.

Directions from Bakewell to Errwood Reservoir
Approximately 15 miles, 22 minutes

Head north on the A6/Buxton Road for 11 miles. At the roundabout take the 2nd exit A6 Manchester for 1/2 mile At the roundabout take the first exit for 100 yards At the roundabout take the 2nd exit for ½ mile passing Buxton Train Station At the roundabout opposite the Palace Hotel turn right leaving Buxton on the A5400/Manchester Road (Long Hill) for 2 miles.

Turn Left at Goyt Lane (signposted Goyt Valley)

Follow the road into the valley until you come to two large reservoirs. Errwood Reservoir is the higher of the two reservoirs on the left. Parking is available on the roads around the reservoir, but please park sensibly. EFFC members may park in the sailing club area and have a key for the gate and barrier which should be closed at all times unless the Sailing Club want to leave it open. Day ticket holders parking in this area risk being locked in.

Public toilets are available 100 yards from the sailing club on Goyts Lane.

The returns box is built into the wall by the valve tower and easily viewable from the barrier. Please post all returns as it helps us keep an accurate stocking policy.
